RAM stands for "Random Access Memory". Random access memory (RAM) is a computer storage device. It stores information in bits, called bytes, and can keep either one or zero. Each bit has a unique address, and the array of cells that make up RAM is arranged vertically or horizontally. A variety of RAM is accessed by sending each box's column and row address down a thin electrical line. Data read from RAM flows back on a separate data line.
